چکیده
Understanding the influence of intersections on operating conditions along connecting roadway segments is important for analysis highway facilities and corridors. This study aims at assessing area signalized stop-control rural The used speed as a performance measure in examining spatial extent operational effects intersections. High-fidelity connected vehicle (CV) trajectory data, collected 11 different sites Florida, was this study. CV data consists individual waypoints that included timestamps location coordinates with other attributes. Drivers’ profiles while driving through intersection were established analyzed to determine length upstream downstream areas. Quantile regression models developed estimate 50th, 70th, 85th percentiles areas separately Study results indicate longer than comparable segment running speeds. Further, significantly intersections, consistent all sites. Traffic flow level did not have significant effect or area; however, midblock speed, percent heavy vehicles, facility type (multilane versus two-lane) found affect

Empirical Analysis and Modeling of Stop-Line Crossing Time and Speed at Signalized Intersections
In China, a flashing green (FG) indication of 3 s followed by a yellow (Y) indication of 3 s is commonly applied to end the green phase at signalized intersections. Stop-line crossing behavior of drivers during such a phase transition period significantly influences safety performance of signalized intersections. The objective of this study is thus to empirically analyze and model drivers' stop...
متن کاملDelay Variability at Signalized Intersections
Delays that individual vehicles may experience at a signalized intersection are usually subject to large variation due to randomness of traffic arrivals and interruption caused by traffic signal control. While such variation may have important implications for the planning, design and analysis of signal controls, currently there is no analytical model available to quantify it. This paper descri...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Impact of user’s Violations on the Saturation Flow Rate at Signalized Intersections
Accurate estimation of saturation flow rate is a prerequisite for accurate estimation of level of service and delays of signalized intersections. Saturation flow rate of intersections depends on many factors, including traffic behavior and culture. One of the important problems of traffic behavior in Iran is the violation of law at the physical region of intersections. The main purpose of this ...
متن کاملPerception of Waiting Time at Signalized Intersections
Introduction Perceived waiting time (PWT) at signalized intersections differs from the real value of waiting time (WT), and varies with signal design. The onerousness of delay depends on the conditions under which it is experienced. Using weighted travel time may contribute to optimal signal control if its use can improve upon assuming that all time is weighted equally by users. This research e...
متن کاملAngle-accident Risk at Signalized Intersections
This paper demonstrates how a new modeling methodology can be applied to intersection angle-accident risk evaluation with data collected from 81 signalized intersections in the Tokyo Metropolitan area. Angle collisions between through traffic flow and opposite right-turn (please note that vehicles travel along the left side of the road in Japan) traffic flow are the second most common type at s...
